I finished the day by looking at the curriculum map with the leader for the Social Studies and Science teachers and reviewing some of the textbooks I'll be using. We made plans for other important facets of fifth grade, including plans for Open House this Friday and for the school year in general. We received our daily schedule and duty schedules. Later I attended a meeting with the other fifth grade teachers. We also received some papers for us to sign, post, keep, etc. We had a faculty meeting with the employees of our school and received a lot of papers that will be sent home to the parents on the first day of school. Naturally it can scan photos and documents, but it includes holders for 35mm film, 35mm slides, and 120/220 medium format film. However, the V600 is impressively designed to cater to film photographers. Needless to say, in a move of this size we are all missing a few things here and there. Flatbed scanners are traditionally thought of as a more versatile but less finessed alternative to a dedicated film scanner. I attempted to set up a flatbed scanner, but the 2 cords were missing. The tech person learned that my power supply is bad so, they'll be ordering a new one. When I pushed the power button on my teacher workstation computer, it wouldn't come on. I was able to get my laptop, LCD projector, and Flex Cam set up with another rearrangement of student and teacher desks. Then I had 3 hours to work in my room which included my lunch time.
